I LEARN presents an engaging platform for adults embarking on their journey to mastering the French language. Each episode introduces characters that guide users through various adventures, enabling learners to explore the city, complete interactive missions, and participate in educational mini-games while reinforcing their knowledge.

Created specifically for adult beginners who possess limited literacy skills, I LEARN is available free of charge and employs an innovative approach developed by seasoned language coaches from the Langues Plurielles training organization.

The application currently offers three hours of playtime and interaction. Key features include:

• Access to over 20 mini-games set in diverse environments, covering practical skills such as counting, sorting groceries, and filling out medical forms.
• The opportunity to engage with characters like GIGI, your flatmate; CASTOR, the supermarket cashier and sports partner; and LEO, a medical assistant at the Health Centre.
• An audiovisual dictionary designed to enhance vocabulary acquisition.
• Features that allow users to practice pronunciation by recording and reviewing their speech.
• Tools for reading and writing practice, including a notebook for revision purposes.
• Exercises focused on associating words with their sounds.
• Instruction on reading and writing in both lowercase and uppercase letters, as well as cursive handwriting.

I LEARN can function independently or complement existing French language courses. Registration for a class is encouraged for a comprehensive learning experience.

This initiative has been collaboratively developed by Langues Plurielles and the Small Bang creative studio, integrating innovative teaching methods with video gameplay. In-context learning allows users to familiarize themselves with everyday vocabulary and situations. The application effectively leverages smartphones as tools for enhancing both written and spoken language skills among absolute beginners.

For specialized literacy educators, I LEARN serves as a valuable resource—whether as an enhancement for classroom learners or as a source of inspiration. Teacher training courses are also available to support integration into teaching practices.
